A thousands splendid suns book review

The title of the book comes from a lyric composed by Saeb-e-Tabrizi a persian minstrel.

The plot of the novel is set in the time of Soviet irruption and Taliban despotism in Afghanistan from early 1960 to the early 2000s. Mariam lives in a small shack outside the megacity of Herat with her mama , Nana. She's an illegitimate son of one of the most successful businessman, Jalil of Herat megacity. Jalil is fairly wedded with his 3 women
and having 9 licit children. Nana was a maid in his house, who was transferred to the outskirts of the megacity to live in as being lower casted was not respectable in Jalil's family. Jalil comes to meet Mariam formerly a week carrying gifts and stories. Once Mariam goes to Jalil's house having desire to be with him but being unwelcomed she's transferred back to her shack. On the way to return she finds her mama Nana swinging at the end of the dropping rope from a tree. After Nana's death Mariam( 15 times) is being forced to marry Rasheed( 40 times) a shoemaker living in Kabul.
Laila, the alternate promoter of the novel is the youthful son of Hakim and Fariba living in Kabul having a strong desire to ameliorate the world with her intelligence and education. Both of her elder sisters have gone to war and their absence makes Laila facetious and mature. She falls in love with Tariq his nonage friend at the age of 15. Due to war, their lives come insecure in Kabul which forces Tariq and his family to move to Pakistan. After many days her parents come victim of an attack carried out through a rocket while injuring Laila poorly too. She's saved by Rasheed and Mariam. When she realized that she's carrying Tariq's child, she decided upon marrying Rasheed. At this time Mariam is at the age of 25 and Rasheed is to be of 60. Both the women get clicked and stand by eachother against the brutality of Rasheed. Climax occurs in a two different mores. Unexpectex, pitiful with the sense of missing out commodity.

This story of Mariam and Laila will not let you make sweats to exfoliate gashes. Hosseini has developed this story in an royal and indefectible manner that brings you to the trip of feelings. An amazing, splendid skill of liar by a bunch of elegant, subtle yet simple words. Many frequentness are recited in a certain way which shakes hearts. A father and a son scene on the machine stop where Mariam and Jalil are being parted after her marriage is heart wrenching. It's absolutely veritably beautifully drafted disturbing story that's must to be read. An excellent piece of literature.
